Bio.

Hi, I’m Venus! A Freelance Illustrator and Healing Art Coach working remotely from my studio in NB, Canada. Born and raised in Toronto, I picked up a paintbrush at the age of two and haven’t put it down since.

I knew I wanted to be a Children’s Book Illustrator at the age of 8 but I explored a few different art forms before really remembering. I grew up on a steady diet of fantastical picture books, magical portals where anything is possible and imagination could become manifested in reality through words and imagery.

I studied at OCAD University to receive a Bachelor of Design Majoring in Illustration and have been working as an artist ever since!

I feel it’s my life mission to contribute to world healing through radical authenticity. I think just being myself, being open and loving, and doing the work to maintain that state, is the most powerful thing I can offer. I can’t say I’m always there, but this is my ideal, and what I strive towards.

I’m a spiritual person, and prioritize healing and emotional growth. It’s really important for me to do meaningful work, and I love working on projects with people who want to make a difference!

I have been fortunate enough to work on branding projects for successful businesses such as the 12 Neighbours Film Series, Scottage Cheese, Feris Build Tech, Symbodi, and The University of New Brunswick. I have a rich history in Indie Game Development. Directing art for published titles such as “Guide” and “Tukatan” among others. I took a dip into live painting at various music shows for Livingroots Festival and Grimross Brewing Co. and have illustrated a children’s book titled “What’s in Flora’s Shoebox?” with Monster House Publishing.
